In book 6 of the Iliad we learn that Hector is the greatest Trojan warrior and that he is the eldest son of King Priam and Queen Hecuba. We learn that he fights to protect his home instead of for glory. Eventually he is killed by Achilles after he kills his friend, Patroclus.
