A lot of people are allergic to chicken eggs, but people have found that they do not have the same reaction to duck eggs. If someone is allergic to chicken eggs then they might be able to eat duck eggs. That is where my business comes in.
I sell farm fresh eggs that come from free range ducks. So if somebody is allergic to chicken eggs then they can try some of my farm fresh duck eggs.
I have been raising ducks and chickens since I was four years old. Which means that I have had ten years of experience so far in my lifetime.
I sold duck eggs mainly to relatives or neighbors, but if I wanted to I could of sold them to a lot more people. I wasn’t really competing with any other businesses when I sold duck eggs, but I bet the store was selling more chicken eggs than I was.
I sold a dozen duck eggs for $5. I fed my ducks chicken food instead of duck food because we also have chickens and it was cheaper.
My customers were mainly my relatives that live near me and maybe some neighbors. I didn’t need to convince my relatives to buy my duck eggs they just asked if they could buy some when they needed eggs.
The scale of my business was relatively small because I only had 15 ducks that gave me like 10 eggs a day. All my ducks flew away because they were a wild bereed of ducks, but I hope to get more ducks soon and start selling more eggs. I also hope to publicize my business more than I previously have, if I get more ducks (which I hope to do).
To start up my business I will need to buy either some ducks or ducklings. I prefer to get ducklings because they are cute and I get to bond with them while they are still young. I will be able to keep them inside the same coop as my chickens and let them free range on our land. I hope to be able to pay for these things myself, since I have the money.
My most significant obstacle to overcome will be keeping them safe from wild animals. I hope that our dog will scare away all the wild animals.
