Why is running my own business a way to guarantee my employment in a decade? Well if you were a businessman would you be more willing to hire a random person with no experience or a person with 10 years of experience? I don’t know about you but I would rather hire a man with 10 years of experience rather than someone with no experience. The reason for this is that, well there’s actually multiple reasons. One of those reasons is initiative.
Initiative is seeing something that needs to be done and doing it without being told. For example I run a lawn care business which includes mowing lawns, shoveling snow, removing unwanted debris, and any other jobs. Customers hire lawn care professionals, because the customers don’t want to follow you around and telling you what to do. If I see trash on the ground, I pick it up even though it’s not in the list of services I provide.
Another one of these reasons is experience. According to the dictionary experience is “a particular instance of personally encountering or undergoing something”. If you have experience things will be easier to do because you will most likely done it or done something like it before. Experience shapes your instincts. The second time you go through something you react faster. Experience gives you the opportunity to copy successful people and avoid repeating mistakes
